Victory for our campaign
It was confirmed today that the licence to practise has
been dropped by Parliament. The NUT has campaigned consistently since June
2009 for the licence to be scrapped. Over 25,000 members and supporters
have signed our petition against the licence. We are delighted, as I'm sure
you will be, that our campaign has been successful.
Thanks to the many thousands of NUT members who have
campaigned against the licence to practise since the campaign started last
year. We are delighted that teachers are now freed from the threat of this
additional burden.
